Friends call me Sawyer. I grew up in a small town in Missouri, where I was raised by my aunt. I spent most of my childhood finding trouble on the Mississippi, where i discovered I had a penchant for protecting dignitaries (we had a rich widow in the town I learned was going to be robbed, and I thwarted the plot and led authorities to the would be assailant.)
This lead me to the employ of the US Secret Service. One of my first assignments was to investigate a series of extremely violent attacks with sophisticated technology occurring overseas. I was sent to London and quickly came across an assembled team of extraordinary gentlemen (and 1 lady)
The team was lead by my boyhood hero, Alan Quartermaine, whom legand told could not be killed. Also assembled was Captain Nemo, Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Skinner (invisible man) Dorian Grey (imortal) and Mina Harker (Vampire).
After stopping a false arms race and possible world war, I returned to Africa with Mr. Quartermaine where I studies with him, On our adventures together I discovered fighting evil required special features. Mr. Quartermaine enjoyed an African spell granting him invincibility. I did not. So I ventured into the world of Rippertech, against his advice, and thus far have achieved the ability to breathe underwater, night visition, and I have stopped aging.
I’m also a pretty good shot and very useful on the water.
